The Golden Valley Light railway

A 2ft (610mm) Narrow Gauge Railway in Derbyshire

Hunslet Barclay LD9351 "Na'alie"

Built in 1992 for the construction of London Underground's Jubilee Line extension. The loco only worked for 6 months hauling spoil and works trains before the end of the contract and subsequent storage.

Over 10 years later she and her sisters were offered by tender to the open market. One of our members was fortunate enough to acquire one of the locos. She arrived with a coat of white paint covered with splats of concrete. After arrival and a thorough "bath" she has recieved a new livery.

The loco has now moved on to new owners and is no longer at the GVLR

It is believe Natalie and her sisters were named after secretarys, who worked for Hunslet. We believe our loco was the last loco built, at the Leeds works of Hunslet.

The loco has very modern control gear, the gears being selected by a joystick. This 3 speed loco had third gear disconected for it's Jubilee Line work, but our CME had a quick look at the wiring diagram of this loco and now all 3 gears are available for use.
